Is There a New Suspect in the Murder of a Mother and Her Two Children in Pemzashen? The Family's Father Details the Situation
A new suspect has emerged in the case of the murder of three individuals, including a mother and her two children, in the village of Pemzashen in the Shirak region. MediaHub.am reports this, referencing information it has obtained. The news outlet writes that such a sentiment has developed among the villagers, as one of the locals is frequently called for questioning.
The information was confirmed by the family's father, Sevak Meliksetyan, who denied these claims: "- Are you aware that residents from the village are being questioned? - People are questioned every day, but that does not mean they are suspects. - There were also reports that there has been a 'clarification.' - There is no such thing. I hear a lot about it, but no clarification has happened. - Do you know what stage the case is in? Arkadi Barseghyan also insists he is not guilty. - Which criminal admits to their guilt? Vruyr also initially said he was not guilty, but later confessed. - Have you had a confrontation with Arkadi or Vruyr? - No, there hasn't been, but I would like to; perhaps that will happen later. Right now, I cannot say anything," he stated.
Recall that relatives Arkadi and Vruyr Barseghyan, who are charged with the brutal murders of 31-year-old Zarine Meliksetyan and her two minor children on November 9, are currently in custody. The murder case is still in the preliminary investigation stage. On November 12, 32-year-old Vruyr Barseghyan was arrested on suspicion of murder, and he confessed to the police, stating that his 36-year-old relative Arkadi Barseghyan was with him on the day of the crime. However, Arkadi does not admit his guilt; his attorney has stated that it can be easily proven that the defendant was in a different location that day.
