Details Revealed on What Peacekeepers Offered Azerbaijanis During Negotiations
Reliable information has been acquired from our source close to the Russian peacekeepers regarding the trilateral negotiations related to the road. According to 'Hraparak', these negotiations had entered a decisive phase since yesterday, with hopes that Baku would concede and withdraw its 'eco-activists' from the Lachin corridor.
The negotiations involved the Russian peacekeepers, representatives from Azerbaijan, and officials from Artsakh. Amidst the escalation of the situation, the Russians were keen to find a resolution and encourage compromise from both parties. According to reports, at the urging of the Russian side, the Armenian representatives made a compromise offer to the Azerbaijani side.
The proposal was as follows: you open the road and restore gas supplies to Artsakh, after which we will permit a small group of your 'environmental representatives', accompanied by us, to visit the Kashen and Drmbon mines for 'monitoring'.
After a lengthy deliberation of more than a day on this proposal, Azerbaijan rejected it, stating that it should be done in the opposite order: first, you must allow us to go to the mines for monitoring, after which we would open the road and restore gas supplies. Naturally, the Armenian side did not fall for this Turkish cunning, and the negotiations ended without result.
The media notes that by doing so, Azerbaijanis have already confessed that they are not interested in the mines or the environment, but are solving the issue of taking over Artsakh with such treacherous and consistent steps, creating a humanitarian disaster in the 21st century and subjecting the peaceful population to blockade.
Our source who participated in the negotiations on the Russian side noted that this signifies a complete failure of the negotiations at this moment, which in turn implies that the blockade will not be lifted soon, and Artsakh must prepare for a long-term resistance.
