Murder in Gegharkunik: What Happened Last Night

On December 18, a murder occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 20:15, the police department in Gavar received a call from the Gavar Medical Center indicating that an ambulance had brought in a male corpse.

Law enforcement officers and investigators established that the deceased was identified as 31-year-old Edward H. from Yerevan. According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic expert, he had been stabbed, suffering cut and puncture wounds to various parts of his body.

The deceased was transported to the hospital from 15 Sayadyan Street in Gavar. It was established that the residence belonged to 42-year-old Sargis M. from Gavar. In the two-story house, investigators discovered numerous traces of blood in various rooms on both the first and second floors.

Authorities determined that on the same day, at approximately 20:00, a 48-year-old male from Gavar had argued with Edward H. over household matters, during which he inflicted knife wounds on the latter, resulting in his death.

The suspect was quickly located and taken to the Gavar police station, from where he was subsequently presented to the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of Armenia's Investigative Committee, where he was arrested as a suspect by the investigator's decision.

Both the victim and the suspect arrested in connection with the murder had previously been convicted multiple times.
