Traffic Collision Involving Brothers' Cars in Gegharkunik Province Results in Casualties

Today, December 18, a serious and tragic traffic accident occurred in Gegharkunik Province. This was reported by shamshyan.com. Around 12:50 PM, vehicles identified as an Opel Astra and a VAZ 21099 collided in the administrative territory of the Shatjreg community along the Shatjreg-Vardenis highway.

As a result of the accident, two individuals died at the scene, and five others were transported to the Vardenis Medical Center with various degrees of bodily injuries. Citizens were the first to provide assistance to the injured, followed by the emergency doctors from the Vardenis hospital, who administered first aid prior to their transfer to the hospital.

The police and investigative department are determining the identities of the drivers, the deceased, and the injured. According to the site’s information, the drivers are brothers. The VAZ 21099 was driven by 33-year-old Vardan Iskoyan, a resident of Gegharkunik Province, while the Opel was driven by his brother, 37-year-old Andok Iskoyan, also a resident of the province. The deceased and injured are their relatives, and preliminary reports suggest that the Opel collided with the VAZ, causing the latter to overturn.
