Export of Wheat, Sunflower Oil, and Several Other Food Products from Armenia to Be Banned

The Armenian government is proposing to ban the export of several agricultural products from the Republic of Armenia.

According to ArmLur.am, the export of wheat, meslin, barley, corn, millet, sunflower seeds, and sunflower oil will be prohibited for six months. The Ministry of Economy justifies this measure by stating that domestic production of these goods does not meet the demand in the market of the Republic of Armenia. It is noted that these products are mainly supplied by imports.

Additionally, the export of the specified products to third countries from Armenia is negligible.
