Video: 'Calling me a Turk does not offend me at all,' says Pashinyan

The most important tool for preventing genocide is dialogue and cooperation between Baku and Stepanakert. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the 4th Global Forum 'Against the Crime of Genocide.'

“We consider this very important in our foreign policy process. Azerbaijan is showing the entire world that they are ready to ensure the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. However, it seems that the one making those statements on international platforms is the international community rather than those who are the beneficiaries of that statement,” said Pashinyan.

According to him, Azerbaijan's message will be real when it is heard in Stepanakert among the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Pashinyan emphasized the need to change the substance of regional relations. In his view, the biggest issue is the prevention and management of hate speech, and hate speech exists in the relations between Armenia-Turkey and Armenia-Azerbaijan.

The Prime Minister stated that it is necessary to stop using the name of another nation to insult people. He noted that when he is called that way, it does not offend him at all, as it is not an insult to him.

Pashinyan added that there was an idea to initiate discussions in a format involving Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus. According to him, this platform should be used to uproot hate speech from the region, and the leaders of the countries should officially declare this.

He announced that he agrees with a statement made in Turkey that all countries in the region need each other in terms of security and sovereignty.
