Video: David Babayan and Several Officials Unable to Return to Artsakh
Azerbaijan has blocked the only road connecting Artsakh to the outside world for more than 24 hours. A press conference is being held in Yerevan featuring Artsakh’s Foreign Minister David Babayan, Artsakh’s Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan, and the advisor to the Artsakh Minister of Internal Affairs Artak Beglaryan.
In his opening remarks, Babayan stated that they are stranded in Armenia and unable to return because the road was closed after their official visit to France. The officials have spent one day in Goris. Other participating officials have also been unable to return. They were invited to participate in the fourth Global Forum “Against the Crime of Genocide,” after which it became impossible to return as the road was closed.
The Foreign Minister called on the international community to take action to restrain Azerbaijan’s anti-Armenian and inhumane genocidal activities and to do everything possible to reopen the road.
