Stepanakert-Shushi Highway Still Closed, Families with Children to be Transferred to Stepanakert: David Galstyan
The Azerbaijanis continue to keep the Stepanakert-Shushi highway closed. This was stated in an interview with NEWS.am by David Galstyan, the leader of the Artsakh National Assembly 'Justice' faction.
'The highway has been closed for about 8 hours now. There are Armenian families on the road who have been waiting since the morning for it to open. It has been decided to transport families with children to Stepanakert; we will accommodate them until we understand when this issue will be resolved,' he noted.
According to the faction leader, the actions of the Azerbaijani side are being quietly observed by the authorities of Armenia and Artsakh, with no specific actions being taken: 'Not even a condemning statement has been issued. They are trying to normalize this situation for the Armenians. Many here already believe that this is the result of Prime Minister Pashinyan's verbal agreements.'
It is worth noting that a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothes again closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway around 10:30 this morning, citing environmental reasons. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh also reported that hundreds of citizens were stranded on the Lisagor-Shushi and Stepanakert-Shushi roads.
Furthermore, numerous citizens have gathered at the Renaissance Square in Stepanakert, demanding the opening of the Stepanakert-Goris highway that has been blocked by Azerbaijanis since morning.
