The Chechen opposition blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov is alive and under the protection of Swedish police, according to the press service of the government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. The Swedish police have not commented on this information.

"According to the information available to the government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Tumso Abdurakhmanov is alive and is under the protection of the Swedish police," a spokesperson stated. He cited "his sources of information" and was unable to clarify why Abdurakhmanov might be under protection.

From the Swedish police, it was noted: "We currently have nothing to add to our previous comment," said the agency's press secretary, Iren Sokolov, in an official response. Earlier, the Swedish police had neither confirmed nor commented on the information regarding Abdurakhmanov's possible murder.

Unconfirmed reports about Abdurakhmanov's death surfaced on December 1 from one of the pro-Ichkeria Telegram channels. Then, on December 5, the 1ADAT Telegram channel reported on his murder.
