Cashless Pension and Benefits Payments Starting February 1

Cashless Pension and Benefits Payments Starting February 1

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reports, "According to the amendments made to the laws on 'State Benefits' and 'State Pensions', pensions for old age, disability, and loss of breadwinner, as well as child care benefits for children up to two years old, will be paid cashless, exclusively through banks, starting February 1, 2023.

According to the current regulations, the mentioned pensions and benefits are paid through banks and the National Operator (Haypost). Due to legislative changes, starting February 1, 2023, the National Operator (Haypost) will no longer make cashless payments; Haypost will continue to carry out only cash payments.

Citizens receiving pensions or benefits through the National Operator can apply to any regional branch of the Unified Social Service (working beneficiaries can also apply online) to change the paying organization and select the bank through which they wish to receive their funds.

As of February 1, 2023, for those receiving pensions or benefits through the National Operator (Haypost) who have not applied to change the paying organization, a program tool will select a bank for payment.

It is worth reminding that pensions and benefits may be paid in cash or cashless at the beneficiary's choice and based on their application, if they are 75 years or older or have been recognized as having first or second group disability. In all other cases, pensions and benefits will be paid cashless, henceforth only through banks."
