Did Ronaldo Threaten to Leave the National Team?

The Portuguese Football Federation has issued a statement denying the information that the team's forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, threatened to leave the national team.

"The Portuguese Football Federation announces that national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo has never threatened to leave the team during the World Cup taking place in Qatar. Ronaldo is continuously adding to his achievements with the national team every day. This deserves respect, as it is proof of his unwavering dedication to the national team. The entire team - players, coaches, and federation representatives - remain committed, as from the very first day, to making this tournament the best for Portugal," the federation's statement reads.

Earlier, the Portuguese publication Record reported that Ronaldo threatened to depart from the national team due to not being in the starting lineup for the match against Switzerland.
