What Are the U.S. Objectives in the Ukrainian Conflict? Blinken Outlines Them
The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking about U.S. support for Kyiv, stated that the United States is focused on helping Ukraine reclaim territories occupied by Russia since February 24, the start of the special military operation.
"Our goal is to continue our current actions to provide Ukraine with what it needs to defend itself… the return of territories occupied since February 24," Blinken said at a Wall Street Journal conference.
He also noted that, in addition to military aid, Kyiv also requires economic and humanitarian assistance.
At the same time, Blinken avoided directly answering whether Ukrainians would be able to "reclaim Crimea," stating that Ukrainians themselves decide "where and when they want to go," but with "our support and support from a dozen countries around the world."
