Video: 'Stop the gossip, they say the mayor is involved in the topics' – What angered Hrachya Sargsyan

During a routine operational meeting at the Yerevan City Hall on December 5, Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan inquired to acting Head of the Oversight Department Vahan Arsenyan whether they had fulfilled the directive and visited the 'Population Special Service' municipal non-commercial organization (MCNO).

'We haven't gone yet; we visited the cemetery. There is a necessity for us to conduct an investigation at the MCNO as well,' Arsenyan responded.

In response, the mayor said, 'Whatever needs to be done, carry out the oversight. Your employees are talking about the mayor being involved in these topics; they think we don’t know... Therefore, be very attentive and conduct your investigation thoroughly so that we can raise these topics.'

When Arsenyan mentioned the need to identify which specific employee had made such comments, Hrachya Sargsyan continued, 'I will specifically say: It is in your department, so you need to put your department in order. And stop the gossip altogether at the city hall. It is very bad that you are unaware.'
