Video: NATO Military Cargo Train Derails in Greece
A NATO cargo train carrying military equipment derailed near the port of Alexandroupolis in Northern Greece. This incident was reported on December 3 by the To Vima portal.
The accident occurred the previous day within the confines of a French station. The cargo was intended for the Balkans and Baltic countries and consisted of tanks, armored vehicles, and containers. The equipment was unloaded at the Evros port by the U.S. military aboard the transport vessel Endurance.
Preliminary reports suggest that the derailment was due to issues with one of the vehicles, which carried American soldiers responsible for the transportation of military equipment.
Elevators and other machinery, as well as police personnel, were dispatched to the scene. According to some reports, the Alexandroupolis port is being utilized by Americans and NATO members to supply weapons to Ukraine.
