Everything is Expectable from Them: Babayan on Azerbaijan's Latest Provocation
Azerbaijan, by closing the Stepanakert-Goris highway, is trying to advance its anti-Armenian policies and paralyze Artsakh, which is also a blow to the Russian peacekeeping mission. This conviction was expressed by Davit Babayan, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, in an interview with Armenpress, commenting on the latest Azerbaijani provocation.
He noted that one should not be surprised by such provocations from Azerbaijan. “Everything is expectable from them. They are trying to intimidate, they persistently seek to advance their anti-Armenian policy, paralyze Artsakh, and violate international norms. This is a blow to the Russian peacekeeping mission and to everything,” Babayan emphasized.
According to him, the international community should draw very clear conclusions from all of this. “The international community must exert pressure on Azerbaijan; there is no alternative. Condemnation is necessary, but concrete actions must be taken. It is not right to limit ourselves to words,” Babayan stated, adding that now is truly not the time for hesitation.
Babayan assured that Artsakh remains standing. All necessary steps are being taken to normalize the situation. The Russian peacekeepers are aware of the incident, and all actions are being undertaken to restore communication.
