Armenia and Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministers Agree to Accelerate Negotiations: Price
The official spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, Ned Price, stated during a press briefing that the United States has been significantly involved in assisting Armenia and Azerbaijan in creating a peaceful future in the South Caucasus.
He did not comment on whether U.S. President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the negotiation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan during the meeting held at the White House the day before.
“We have held a trilateral meeting between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Secretary of State Blinken is also in touch with the parties. During the last meeting, the foreign ministers agreed to accelerate negotiations, planning another meeting in the coming weeks. They expressed their gratitude to the American side for hosting this ministerial meeting. We certainly hope that dialogue and a constructive atmosphere between the two countries will continue, as we will continue to support diplomacy leading to sustainable peace and resolution of issues between the two countries,” emphasized Price.
