Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Sends Protest Note to Iran: The Reason Revealed
Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has sent a protest note to Iran. According to Azerbaijani media reports, this was stated by the head of the press service department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aihan Hacizade, in response to local media inquiries regarding 14 citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran entering the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan (referring to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), where Russian peacekeeping forces are temporarily stationed, bypassing the legally established checkpoints.
“A corresponding note has been sent to the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan concerning information about the illegal entry of citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran into our territories, in order to clarify the information. Currently, we are awaiting a response from the Iranian side,” he said.
