Video: 'The notion that police tortured citizens does not correspond to reality' - Fidanian
Armenia's Deputy Police Chief Ara Fidanian addressed reporters regarding the incident in Lori, stating, "The opinions circulating that police have tortured citizens do not correspond to reality. In fact, the opposite process has occurred – the actions were unlawful on the part of the citizens themselves."
It is noteworthy that MP Kristine Vardanyan from the 'Armenia' parliamentary faction mentioned that she received alerts from residents of the Lori region regarding several citizens being brutally beaten by officers of the Patrol Service. She indicated that according to one citizen, the incident occurred after the Patrol Service attempted to clear the road for Nikol Pashinyan's convoy and became embroiled in an argument with an elderly citizen who simply requested to be spoken to respectfully.
During the press conference, the MP added that she sees a tendency to reverse the narrative and create an image that the citizens are at fault.
