Earthquake Near Meghri: Which Settlements Felt It
On December 2, at 19:33 local time (15:33 GMT), the seismic monitoring network of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia registered an earthquake in the border region between Armenia and Iran, approximately 7 km northeast of Meghri, at a depth of 10 km, with a magnitude of 2.8.
The intensity of the tremor in the epicentral area was measured at 3-4 degrees. The earthquake was felt in the towns of Meghri and Agarak, as well as in the villages of Alvank, Nrnadzor, and Shvanidzor with an intensity of 3 degrees, and in the city of Kapand with an intensity of 2-3 degrees.
