Azerbaijani MP Calls for Boycott of French Goods

Azerbaijani MP Nagif Hamzaev has called on all Azerbaijanis to voluntarily boycott French goods in response to the anti-Azerbaijani resolutions passed by the French National Assembly.

Yesterday, Azerbaijan's ambassador to France, Leila Abdullayeva, reacting to the French National Assembly's resolution supporting Armenia and proposing sanctions against Azerbaijan, stated that France is obstructing peace.

It is noteworthy that the document adopted in the lower house of the French Parliament on November 30 recommends that the government impose sanctions against Azerbaijan in the event of attacks and continued occupation of Armenia’s sovereign territory. It urges continued mediation efforts to address the safety of the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh and calls for considering the possibility of strengthening Armenia’s defense capabilities. French MPs also addressed Baku, urging the withdrawal of troops from Armenian territory, the immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war, cessation of aggression against Armenia, and the establishment of lasting peace in the South Caucasus.

In a statement to international organizations, French legislators demanded action to protect Armenian cultural and religious heritage in territories under Baku's control.

The lower house of the French Parliament advises the Armenian authorities to appeal to the International Criminal Court to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the torture, rape, and executions of Armenian prisoners of war during the September attacks.
