VIDEO: What is Causing the Traffic Jam at the Upper Lars Checkpoint? What Has Armenia Suggested?
Auroranews.am has been receiving continuous reports regarding the queues that have formed at the Upper Lars checkpoint. Citizens indicate that they have been unable to reach the checkpoint for days due to enormous lines, and the goods they are transporting may never reach their destination.
It is worth mentioning that on November 22, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, requested assistance from the Russian ambassador regarding the situation at the Lars checkpoint.
Auroranews.am contacted the press secretary of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Sona Harutyunyan, to understand what actions the ministry is taking to address the situation and what response has been received following the request made to the Russian ambassador. She specifically noted that the congestion at the Upper Lars checkpoint is due to the tightening of border checkpoint control functions by the Russian side since the second half of October this year. The Armenian side is in constant communication with Russian, Georgian, and representatives of the Armenian embassy in Georgia to find a solution to the issue. The Armenian side has presented proposals to the Russian side.

We also remind you that on the morning of October 8, a truck exploded on the Crimean bridge. The Russian FSB has determined that the truck, which allegedly contained explosives, had departed from Odessa to Bulgaria, then to Georgia, and finally to Armenia, before heading into Russia via Georgian territory. The truck driver was Arthur Terzyan, a citizen of Armenia and Georgia. Minister Vahan Kerobyan also mentioned that security issues have arisen at Upper Lars following the explosion on the Crimean bridge.
