Kyiv's Main Christmas Tree Will Be Without Lights

The main Christmas tree of Kyiv will be installed without lights to save electricity. This was reported by the Ukrainian energy company YASNO, according to the publication "UNN." The energy company noted that this will help reduce the additional load on the grid.

It was mentioned that a lit Christmas tree adds a load of 5.96 megawatts to the grid in just one day, increasing the current deficit in Ukraine's capital by two percent. This volume is equivalent to supplying electricity to twelve high-rise buildings for one hour.

Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko spoke about the preparations for the New Year in the capital of Ukraine. According to him, Christmas trees will be installed in many neighborhoods of the city as part of the holiday preparations. At the same time, the mayor stated that there will be no mass celebrations.
