Shirak Governor Appeals to Police Chief
The Governor of Shirak Province, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, has announced that her brother, Arman Baghdasaryan, a member of the Gyumri City Council, who was detained by the police on November 24, has been released as no illegal weapons or ammunition were found on him.
This information was shared by the governor on her Facebook page. "As a result of the personal search of Arman Baghdasaryan and the inspection of his vehicle, nothing was discovered and he has been released," the governor wrote, adding that the basis for the suspicion of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition stemmed from a report by police officer N. Simonyan.
She emphasized that an action was carried out against a political figure, and ultimately it was recorded that the suspicions were not confirmed. "Without interfering with the activities of the law enforcement system, as the Governor of Shirak, I expect a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident from the Shirak police chief, including a service investigation. The public has the right to know what facts and motives were behind the report of officer N. Simonyan, and also how dangerous A. Baghdasaryan is to society," Nazeli Baghdasaryan stated.
It is worth noting that Arman Baghdasaryan is suspected of illegal possession of weapons. Relevant documents were drawn up, after which the governor's brother was released.
