Ukrainians Ready to Live Without Light and Heat for Two to Three Years: Zelensky's Wife

Most residents of Ukraine have stated that they are prepared to live without light and heat for the sake of EU membership, said Elena, the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with BBC.

“Over 90 percent of respondents answered that they are willing to endure this for two to three years if they see our prospects for joining the European Union. They want to be equal members of this European family,” shared the Ukrainian leader's wife, referring to the results of a recent sociological survey.

According to Zelenskaya, the population is ready to withstand the current conditions for the sake of dignity and the democratic family they aspire to join. She noted that Ukrainians are optimistic about this whole situation.

Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that shelves in Kyiv's stores are empty of food, and customers have been standing in long queues to purchase essentials. Supermarket employees say that residents of Kyiv and the surrounding regions are quickly sorting through food from early morning.
