Aram Vardevanyan Resigns from Parliamentary Mandate
Today, I will present my application for resignation from the parliamentary mandate. This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "Hayastan" faction, on his Facebook page.
He also noted, “I have had a clear and sincere discussion about this with my colleagues. This is my personal decision, while of course respecting the steps and actions of my colleagues. To the best of my abilities, I will support my fellow parliamentarians and our partners.”
“I do not know if it is possible to measure the effectiveness of any parliamentarian's activities, but at least I am at peace with my conscience: I have used the mandate given to me for the benefit of the country, trying to maximize my knowledge and powers in the National Assembly, the Constitutional Court, and beyond. I have been there where my political team needed me, from rallies to the podium, from marches to places of detention,” he added.
“The knowledge I gained along this journey and the mission to voice the problems and concerns of our compatriots are invaluable life experiences for me. It has been a great responsibility and honor to be actively involved in politics alongside President Kocharian and our teammates. I want to especially emphasize that I bow before the thousands of our countrymen who have been alongside us, who trust us, and with whom we have walked a difficult path. We have endured hardships together, witnessing unspeakable pressures. Many of them had left their jobs and responsibilities for months to come out into the streets with us for an ideological struggle.”
“I have fought and will continue to fight for a solution that I am still waiting for. I believe that it will not be delayed, and it will be possible to build a truly secure country with strong borders and a united society, preserving our Artsakh, and achieving our new and great dream.”
“For me, nothing has changed or will change on this matter. Now, I am returning to the legal community; there is much to be done. God protect our Armenia and our Artsakh.”
