Aliyev: We Want Armenia to Understand That They Have Nothing in Common with the Armenians of Karabakh
We want the processes for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey, as well as Armenia and Azerbaijan, to proceed in parallel. This statement was made by President Ilham Aliyev during the conference titled 'Along the Middle Corridor: Geopolitics, Security, and Economics.'
Currently, we see changes in Armenia's rhetoric. They are now saying they want to normalize relations with Turkey, and we support this. We want these two processes—normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations—to proceed in parallel,
the state leader said.
Aliyev emphasized that he does not know how sincere the Armenian side is when speaking about peace. 'We want peace. We want them to understand that they have nothing in common with the Armenians of Karabakh. We want the Zangezur corridor and we want to demarcate borders based on historical maps, not the maps they are trying to present. We do not want territories; we do not want war. If we wanted that, we would do it,' said the aggressor.
It is noteworthy that the Armenian Ministry of Defense regularly reports on the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opening fire towards Armenian positions.
