Zas Departs: It Is Known Who Will Take Over as Secretary General of the CSTO
The position of Secretary General of the CSTO will be taken over by Imangali Tasmagambetov, former Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia, starting from 2023. This was announced today by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the CSTO summit held in Yerevan, where he expressed gratitude to Stanislav Zas for his service.
"Stanislav Zas is completing his three-year term as Secretary General of the CSTO, and I want to thank him for his work," said Pashinyan.
It is noteworthy that Tasmagambetov served as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation from 2017 to 2019. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Russian automotive corporation "KAMAZ". Throughout the years, he has held various positions including Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and Mayor of Astana and Almaty.
