Kremlin Comments on Erdogan's Statements

Russia and Turkey have nuances and sometimes disagreements regarding the security issues in Syria; however, the partnership between Moscow and Ankara allows for open and constructive discussions on these matters, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, to journalists.

“There are some nuances in the approaches of Russia and Turkey concerning the situation in Syria and regarding those who have not fulfilled their obligations under the Sochi memorandum. These nuances, and sometimes even disagreements, have been discussed numerous times by both presidents,” Peskov said in response to a question about how the Kremlin views Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statement that the Russian side has not fulfilled its obligations to clear Syrian territories of Kurdish armed groups as per the agreements made in 2019.
