Iran Announces Discussions with Ukraine on Drones

Commenting on claims from an American newspaper about the mass production of military drones in Russia based on Iranian designs, the permanent mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the UN announced that important steps have been taken by Iranian and Ukrainian experts.

Iran stated that it is holding expert meetings with Ukrainian specialists regarding the supply of Russian strike drones that Russia is using in its war against Ukraine. This was reported by the Iranian IRNA news agency.

“To date, significant steps have been taken regarding the joint cooperation of defense experts from Iran and Ukraine, and this will continue as long as misunderstandings are not resolved,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Iran's permanent representative to the UN in New York stated that Iran believes “the misunderstandings in this regard can be resolved by continuing communications with Ukraine on the alleged drone issues.”

Simultaneously, Iran reminded that it has cooperated with Russia in the fields of defense and science for many years, even before the outbreak of the Ukrainian war. Previously, Iran has repeatedly denied supplying drones to Russia.
