Iran's National Football Team Chooses Not to Sing National Anthem Before Opening Match
Iran's national football team opted not to sing the national anthem on Monday before their opening match against England in the World Cup, evidently showing support for the protesters back home. This was reported by Reuters.com.
All eleven starting players stood in silence as the anthem played at Khalifa International Stadium.
It is worth noting that the England-Iran match has kicked off, with England currently leading 3-0 in the first half.
