In the opening match of the 2022 World Cup, Ecuador's national team achieved a 2-0 victory over the host country, Qatar.

The best player of the match, Ecuador's forward Enner Valencia, scored a double. He opened the scoring in the 15th minute, and just 16 minutes later, in the 31st minute, he secured his second goal. Earlier, in the 3rd minute, Valencia's first goal was disallowed by VAR due to an offside position.

Fans from South America have already made their presence known; during the match, they chanted "queremos cerveza," which translates to "we want beer" in Spanish.

It is noteworthy that, according to FIFA regulations, beer is not sold in the stadiums during the 2022 World Cup.
