Qatar Bans Beer Sales at Stadiums During World Cup

Qatari authorities have prohibited the sale of beer in stadiums during the World Cup.

“Following negotiations between the host country’s authorities and FIFA, it has been decided to concentrate the sale of alcoholic beverages at FIFA Fan Fest, in other fan areas, and in licensed venues, removing beer points from the stadiums of the 2022 World Cup,” FIFA has announced.

Alcohol sales and consumption in Qatar are strictly regulated. Alcohol is typically allowed only in a few specially licensed hotels and restaurants.
