Levon Mnatsakanyan Interrogated in the Case of Mikael Arzumanyan

The former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Lieutenant General Mikael Arzumanyan, has been the subject of a criminal investigation, with former commander of the Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan being interrogated as part of the proceedings. This information was reported by the newspaper "Hayastan."

"We tried to clarify the reality directly from him, but our attempts were in vain. It should be noted that the process of confrontations in Mikael Arzumanyan's case is ongoing. The investigative body is inviting former commanders of the Artsakh Defense Army and other individuals for questioning, including confrontations with the former commander of the Defense Army," the newspaper states.

It is noted that confrontations are usually conducted when contradictions arise in the testimonies of individuals involved in the criminal proceedings. This is why the investigator has placed Mikael Arzumanyan and other individuals involved in the case face-to-face to ask specific questions.

Recall that on September 1, 2022, the prosecutor's office announced that former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army and advisor to the president of Artsakh Mikael Arzumanyan had been charged for issuing a withdrawal order to personnel who had liberated the strategically important "Arega" height and surrounding combat positions during the 2020 Artsakh War.

Arzumanyan was arrested on September 1 and has remained in custody ever since. Before charges were filed against Arzumanyan, MP Seyran Ohanyan, the head of the "Armenia" faction, was also interrogated as a witness.
