Armenian Satellite Captured Footage from Armenian-Azerbaijani Border on September 14: Deputy Minister

The "ArmSat-1" Armenian satellite launched into space captured footage from the eastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border during an act of aggression by Azerbaijan on September 14. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of High Technology Industry, Avet Poghosyan, during a press conference dedicated to the operations of Armenia's first satellite, in response to a question from Sputnik Armenia regarding whether the satellite was used for the previously stated military purposes.

“Recent information indicates that images have been obtained from various points on Earth, including from the eastern border of Armenia. You have your answer to your question,” said Poghosyan.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister emphasized that Armenia's space programs are exclusively peaceful in nature. “The data obtained from the satellite are used solely for peaceful purposes, including conducting monitoring for security considerations,” said Poghosyan.

Minister of High Technology Industry Robert Khachatryan also noted that nothing has changed in their plans, and the satellite will be utilized in all previously announced sectors. “We provide a tool that our partners can use. As mentioned, we are already receiving certain data and images, and everyone will find their application,” said Minister Khachatryan.

It is noteworthy that Armenia's first space satellite was launched into Earth's orbit on May 25 at 22:35 via the SpaceX spacecraft from the NASA Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
