Turkey-Israel Relations Enter New Phase: Erdogan Reports
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a phone conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of the "Likud" party, stated that Turkey and Israel's relations have entered a new phase of development, as reported by Anadolu Agency. Netanyahu has received a mandate to form the Israeli government.
Netanyahu expressed condolences to the Turkish leader regarding the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul. Addressing the prevailing situation in the region, the Israeli politician characterized Turkey's mediation efforts in Russia and Ukraine as "significant for the entire world."
Erdogan thanked Netanyahu for his condolences and expressed his regret regarding the incident that occurred two days ago on the western bank of the Jordan River. He noted that through determination and will from both parties, Turkey and Israel's relations have entered a new developmental phase. Erdogan emphasized that the ongoing dialogue between Turkey and Israel, based on mutual respect for interests, aligns with the positions of both nations.
He also expressed hope that the results of the Knesset elections will have a positive impact not only on Israel but on the entire region.
