Arkad Darseghyan Charged in Pemzashen Case Was Not at the Crime Scene, Lawyer Says
Arkad Darseghyan, who is considered a suspect in the murder case that occurred in Pemzashen, denies the allegations against him, according to his lawyer, Vladimir Darseghyan, in an interview with Tert.am. He stated that Darseghyan does not accept the charges and does not consider himself guilty.
“Arkad Darseghyan was in a different location with other people on the day of the murder. He has provided detailed testimony to the investigative body regarding this matter. He specified in his testimony the exact times and places he was at, and being in those specified locations, he simply could not have committed the crime. It is solely the responsibility of the investigative body to verify whether the information in Arkad Darseghyan’s testimony corresponds to reality or not. There are cameras that have recorded my client’s whereabouts, there are people who were with him, and there are opportunities to clarify these circumstances. The investigative body should analyze and verify the entire testimony through active investigative actions. I believe that considering the sensitivity of the case, the safety of my client’s family, and his good reputation, the prosecuting authority will expedite the clarification of these circumstances,” said the lawyer.
Vladimir Minasyan also pointed out that the delay in investigating his client's testimony could lead to new offenses. He noted that Arkad Minasyan is not the closely related cousin of Vruyr Darseghyan, the accused murderer. “They are distant relatives; their families have not had contact for a long time. Arkad Darseghyan’s family has not allowed Vruyr Darseghyan and his family to enter their home,” the lawyer added.
