Video: Women Should Have Such Involvement That Men Are at Least a Little Stretched in the Army, Kocharian

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has set a goal to enhance the role of women in the army. This was stated by Andranik Kocharian, the chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, during the discussion of the draft law on the state budget for 2023.

“The chairman of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, Gevorg Papoyan, said that allocations for the defense sector have significantly increased. And this is natural; after the war, the defense sector needs to redefine itself and adopt new approaches regarding the condition of the army, military education, armaments, and the corresponding expenditures,” Kocharian noted.

He added that the Ministry of Defense has set a leadership challenge for increasing the role of women in the Armed Forces: “And soon in 2023, you will be surprised to see the involvement of women in the army! This will be attractive for all other state institutions as well. This is very important; women should have such involvement that men are at least a little stretched in the army,” Kocharian said.

The chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security mentioned that there would be changes in all areas of the army, from uniforms to armaments. “And the most important component of the change will be education,” Kocharian added.
