Video: Casualties and Injuries Rise from Fire at a Russian Café

Seven people have died and four others have been injured as a result of a fire that broke out at the "Polygon" café in Kostroma. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the press service of the Kostroma Regional Prosecutor's Office.

"Seven dead, four injured," said a source from the agency.

Earlier, emergency services had reported five fatalities and four injuries. According to the source, a collapse occurred in the café, with the entire roof, covering an area of 3,500 square meters, collapsing.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Kostroma Region stated that the firefighters have extinguished the fire. The prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation related to the emergency situation.

The regional governor, Sergey Sitnikov, has also traveled to the scene to oversee the ongoing operations. He listened to the reports from the emergency services and has given instructions regarding the necessary support for the victims, according to the press service of the regional administration.

The fire at the "Polygon" café, located on Nikitsky Street, was reported on November 5 at 02:37 Moscow time, covering an area of 3,500 square meters. Fifty people and 20 pieces of equipment were involved in fighting the fire. Residents from a nearby house, numbering 15, were evacuated. To protect them from the cold, they were accommodated in passenger buses.
