After the Assault, the Doctor Quietly Continued to Provide Care to the Child Whose Parent Attacked Her
Another incident of violence against medical personnel occurred in Armenia, targeting a doctor and a security guard within a healthcare facility. This was reported by Armen Muradyan, the rector of Yerevan State Medical University, on his Facebook page.
“A disgraceful incident. Once again, violence has been inflicted on a doctor and a security staff in a medical facility in Armenia. It is unacceptable and inhumane for someone to raise their hand against a doctor while they are performing their professional duties... I thank our physician, who, remaining loyal to her calling, continued her professional duty in silence even after the assault and provided medical assistance to the child whose parent dared to commit this inadmissible and punishable act... I believe that this incident deserves the harshest punishment and condemnation. Society must reject and condemn such incidents, and we expect law enforcement to enforce the law with all its severity. Let us not forget that the moral damage caused by this act affects not only the doctor but our entire society. Such phenomena create an unhealthy atmosphere of mutual distrust.
P.S. The Turkish Pasha granted freedom to doctor poet Ruben Sevak, who saved his daughter’s life, although the physician-poet rejected the offer...
As previously reported, on November 16, another act of violence took place at one of the medical centers in Yerevan. Around 00:35, in the Erebuni administrative district, a group attacked a security guard of the ‘Muratsan’ medical center, hitting the guard with their hands and glass bottles, and then entered the hospital where they committed violence against a doctor.
