1.4 Million Tourists Visited Armenia in the First 10 Months of This Year, Nearly Half from Russia

According to data from the first 10 months of this year, approximately 1.4 million tourists have visited Armenia. Statistics committee data reveals that about 46 percent of these tourists arrived from Russia. Georgia ranks second, having surpassed Iran this year in tourist numbers.

Tourists from Georgia accounted for 8 percent of the total visitors, while those from Iran made up 7 percent.

Notably, the highest influx of tourists was recorded in August, with 261,834 visitors, of which 135,000 were from Russia. In September, the number of Russian visitors decreased to 97,000, and in October, it further declined to 76,000.

It is worth mentioning that during the first six months of this year, Armenia welcomed 588,731 tourists, which is 2.4 times higher than the same period last year. Among these tourists, 54.5 percent came from Russia (an increase of 3.1 times), while 12.2 percent were from EU countries (an increase of 3.4 times). Visitors from other countries comprised 33.3 percent (an increase of 2.6 times).

Visitors from Ukraine made up only 1.3 percent of all tourists, which is a 75 percent increase compared to last year.
