We have decided that Mr. Avinyan will be the candidate for mayor, says the mayor

During a press briefing with journalists at the National Assembly, Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan was asked whether he plans to remain in the city hall after stepping down from his position. Sargsyan deemed this unlikely.

“I don’t think so,” said the Yerevan mayor. He added that he has not yet decided what he will do next.

“We have decided that Mr. Avinyan will be the candidate for mayor. We are moving forward with that decision, there is no issue, I even mentioned that there are projects I wish to continue during my tenure, and they should not stop as such. I am implementing the projects, and I believe that in any case, the baton should always be handed over to another person,” Sargsyan said.
