VIDEO: Yerevan Mayor Discusses New Metro Station

The planning work for the new "Ajapnyak" metro station in Yerevan is underway. This was announced by Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan during a press briefing with journalists at the National Assembly.

When asked whether construction work would start next year, the mayor replied, "No, I don’t think we will begin construction in 2023. The project will be completed, after which a tender will be announced, and then we need to understand what financial resources will be used for the metro construction—whether we will rely on international organizations or fund it ourselves. I believe we will execute this with the help of international organizations; there are energy-saving components in the project, and I think there will be an opportunity to attract grants."

The mayor also mentioned that 1.1 billion drams have already been budgeted for the planning work.
