Peskov Issues Call to Yerevan and Baku

The Kremlin has urged Armenia and Azerbaijan to refrain from actions that could lead to heightened tensions in their bilateral relations.

Spokesman for the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on reports of new skirmishes along the contact line, saying, “We call on the parties to avoid actions and steps that could lead to an increase in tensions along the contact line.”

He noted that the declaration adopted at the trilateral meeting in Sochi recorded the intention of both Azerbaijan and Armenia to achieve resolution exclusively through peaceful, political-diplomatic means.
