New Buses to be Put into Operation in Yerevan: Mayor Clarifies

I am confident that we will solve 70% of the transport issue during 2023. This was stated by Yerevan Mayor Harutyun Sargsyan in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.

“The transport issue is not only the acquisition of transportation vehicles, but it is one of the priority steps. We also need to organize traffic management. We expected to have a management center by September. I believe we will also have that in about 2-3 months,” said the mayor.

Regarding the acquisition of buses, Sargsyan noted: “We already have a signed contract concerning the acquisition of MAN brand buses. Our partners will be at the factory in November. According to the contract, we are expecting 87 MAN buses to be in Yerevan in 2023.”

He also recalled that this year a competition was announced for the acquisition of 165 Zhongtong brand buses. “Out of the 165, 150 are already fully prepared and will depart from China to Armenia within 4-5 days. We expect that these buses will be in Yerevan by the end of December,” said Sargsyan.
