“I Probably Won't Come Back, Take Good Care of Each Other”: The Last Words of Siaband Tamoyan Who Died in Jermuk
Siaband (Yura) Tamoyan, an ethnic Yezidi, was one of the casualties resulting from military actions by Azerbaijan against Armenia on September 13, 2022. He was a contractual soldier for 16 years, spending 14 of those years in Karvachar. After the 44-day war, when the Karvachar region came under Azerbaijani control, he was transferred to Sisian. After serving for two years in Sisian, he moved to Jermuk after a rotation, where he was killed on September 13 due to injuries sustained from shrapnel.
This information was reported by Hetq.am. Siaband Tamoyan was known to everyone as Yura. His wife, Zozanna Aliyan, recalls that despite the difficult conditions, Yura never asked for anything from anyone. “He wouldn’t cheat, wouldn’t steal, wouldn’t insult anyone. He was selfless and loved his service and family very much. But during his last departure, it seemed like he felt something and said, ‘I probably won’t come back, take good care of each other, thank you for holding the house as it should be all these years,’” Zozanna reminisces about her last conversation with her husband.
Siaband Tamoyan's family lives in poor social conditions, and their home construction remains unfinished.
