Bayramov Again Accuses Armenian Side
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has accused the Armenian side of violating the trilateral statement and delivering mines to Nagorno-Karabakh via the Lachin corridor. This was reported by Baghramyan26.
Later, Azerbaijani government resources made a false statement claiming that peacekeepers allegedly supplied weapons to Nagorno-Karabakh from the Russian base in Gyumri "under the guise of humanitarian aid." The purpose of such an information provocation is more than obvious—creating a pretext for establishing an Azerbaijani checkpoint in the Lachin corridor.
The Azerbaijani side realized that it would not be able to acquire the Zangezur corridor through force or threats, especially since this was not provided for in the November 9 trilateral statement. Yerevan's stance on this issue is uncompromising: all unblocked roads must remain under the sovereignty of the countries through which they pass. However, Baku seems unwilling to reconcile with this.
If Azerbaijan takes such a step and demands to establish a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor, it would constitute a gross violation of the trilateral statement on one hand, and on the other, a blow to Russian mediation and peacekeeping efforts.
It should also be noted that yesterday information was received at the Askeran District Police Department that around 12:30, K. Martirosyan, a resident of Stepanakert (born in 1969), while working in an area called "100 hectares" belonging to M. Arakelyan in the administrative territory of Khramort village with a "Belarus" tractor, came under fire from nearby Azerbaijani combat positions. The shots shattered the front windshield of the tractor and damaged the control panel. The information has been forwarded to the Russian peacekeeping forces.
