USA Establishes Headquarters in Germany to Supply Weapons to Kyiv: Pentagon

The United States is creating a new group in Germany to assist Ukraine, which will focus on the long-term management of supplying armaments to the country. This was announced during a press conference by Sabrina Singh, the deputy spokesperson for the Pentagon.

“Today I am pleased to announce that the Department of Defense will establish a group to assist Ukraine, which we will call SAGU. It will be a special headquarters component in Wiesbaden (Germany) under the command of U.S. European Command,” Singh stated, as reported by RIA Novosti.

She added that the new headquarters will allow the U.S. to continue supporting Ukraine in the long term.

Previously, Russia had sent a note to NATO countries regarding the supply of armaments to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has declared that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian president, stated that the West’s supply of weapons to Ukraine does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.
