Fierce Fighting in Donetsk Without Ceasefire, Zelensky Says

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has announced that the country's armed forces have successfully repelled more than 100 attacks in the Eastern Donetsk region.

Zelensky mentioned that the fighting in Donetsk is fierce and continues without interruption. The Ukrainian leader also stated that as Russia withdrew its troops from the western bank of the Dnipro River, the Ukrainian side began forming groups to implement aid and humanitarian initiatives in the Kherson region.

Ukrainian officials assert that before leaving the area, the Russian side destroyed critical infrastructure in the city.

Zelensky further informed that he had spoken with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan about extending the grain deal facilitated by the United Nations.
