Russia's Resolution Against Nazism Adopted at the UN
The Third Committee of the UN General Assembly has adopted the draft resolution presented by Russia aimed at combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism, and other forms of racial discrimination. According to reports from RIA Novosti, 106 delegations voted in favor of the draft.
At the same time, 51 countries voted against it, and 15 nations abstained from the vote. Those that voted against included the United States, EU member states, Canada, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Japan, Moldova, and Ukraine.
The UN General Assembly passes a similar resolution every year. Once approved by the committee, it will be voted on in the General Assembly, expected to take place in December. In July, Russia held a Security Council meeting dedicated to the “Arria formula resolution” concerning neo-Nazism in Ukraine.
