Iran to Increase Gas Supplies to Armenia: Mehr

Iran and Armenia have agreed to double the volume of natural gas sold to Armenia and extend the gas trade agreement until 2030, reports the Iranian Mehr agency, citing information from Oil Price.

It is noted that Armenia receives most of its natural gas from Russia. However, relations with Moscow are deteriorating, and Yerevan will soon have more alternatives.

The agreement was reached during Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Tehran. The memorandum of understanding was signed on November 1 by Iran's Deputy Minister of Oil, Majid Chegeni, and Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan.
